Summary

If a Client decides to proceed with SharePoint for document storage, XSTRA recommends using Konnekt. XSTRA’s policy may evolve as we continue development of our in-house solution XFILES. Konnekt maps Microsoft 365 cloud storage (SharePoint Online and OneDrive) into Windows File Explorer as traditional drive letters and UNC paths, letting users work with cloud files as if they were on a network drive. It integrates with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for seamless SSO using the current Windows session, and it operates without local sync (no OneDrive sync client required). Konnekt talks directly to Microsoft 365 via the Microsoft Graph API (i.e., not WebDAV), which improves reliability and performance, especially in VDI environments (Citrix/AVD/Windows 365). It supports Microsoft 365 co-authoring, centralized configuration via GPO/MDM (including Intune policies), auto-mapping of libraries, multi-geo, and multiple accounts across tenants.
