| Disk volume size increases can be coordinated through our Service Desk by raising a ticket and there is no cost for this. |
| Excluding boot disk volumes, disk volume size decreases can be done but are more involved and will be billed at our standard Schedule 1 Rates & Charges. Bootable disk volumes cannot be reduced in size. |
| All resource usage pricing and allocations (including but not limited to, power and data) are subject to XSTRA’s review, assessments, and at XSTRA’s discretion. |
| 2. CONSOLIDATION & DELETED FILE RETENTION |
| Our XRACK Backup and Recovery service utilizes StorageCraft ShadowProtect with ImageManager consolidation to maintain an efficient, streamlined backup chain. This process periodically merges incremental backup files into consolidated daily, weekly, and monthly backups—minimising the number of individual backup files in the chain. As a result, any file or folder you delete may be permanently removed during consolidation and will not appear in subsequent consolidated backups. This behaviour is inherent to ShadowProtect’s consolidation design. If retaining the ability to recover deleted files beyond this consolidation window is critical for your organisation, we recommend adding Immutable Backups to your backup solution. Immutable Backups guarantee that deleted files remain recoverable—even after consolidation events—as data becomes tamper-proof and non-erasable for a fixed retention period. |
